CO2 Laser Resurfacing
There are a number of modalities to resurface skin to reduce signs of aging, sun damage, and stigmata of acne. These include fractional CO2 laser resurfacing, dermabrasion, and chemical peels.
Can CO2 laser resurfacing help me?
During your consultation, Dr. Levine will discuss the benefits of laser resurfacing and analyze your skin to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure.
What is C02 laser resurfacing used to treat?
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Sun damage
- Pigmented lesions
- Skin texture irregularities
- Acne scars
Are CO2 laser resurfacing treatments customized?
Using fractional CO2 technology, Dr. Levine will create a custom treatment that is designed to treat your skin.
How long will I need to recover from C02 laser resurfacing?
CO2 laser resurfacing with fractional technology is highly customizable. For this reason, downtime can vary from zero to 7-10 days. Remember, the less downtime, the less significant the result. A medium depth treatment usually requires 3-4 days of downtime.
How many treatments will be necessary?
This also varies and depends on the strength of the treatment. Frequently, 1 treatment is all that is required, but this can vary. Depending on the regimen you discuss with Dr. Levine, 2 or 3 treatments may be required.
What can I expect immediately after treatment?
Your face will be red after treatment. This can last from 1-6 days depending on the depth of your treatment. Your skin will likely peel at some point after treatment.
We strongly recommend avoiding sun exposure for at least 4 weeks after treatment.
