Photofacials are used to reduce the effects of aging and sun damage on your skin.
What is a Photofacial treatment?
Photofacial treatments use a light-based device to deliver a series of gentle pulses of light to the skin on the face, neck, back of hands, or chest. The treatment will visibly improve facial redness and flushing, brown spots (age spots), and the visible sign of sun damage and aging.
Is the Photofacial treatment customized?
Yes. Specific settings for your Photofacial are determined by Dr. Levine at the time of treatment.
How many Photofacial treatments are required?
A series of 2-3 Photofacial treatments are performed approximately 3 weeks apart for maximum results.
What can I expect during a Photofacial treatment?
-Each treatment take between 15-30 minutes.
-Mild discomfort while the pulses of light are being applied (numbing cream can be applied but is usually not needed)
What can I expect following a Photofacial treatment?
-Your skin may appear red and flushed.
-Brown spots usually appear darker and require up to 2 weeks to exfoliate.
-All of these changes gradually fade over a period of hours to a few days.
-Your skin will feel smoother and have a more even tone.
